1) What is Chef Robotics?
Chef’s mission is to empower humans to do what humans do best by accelerating the advent of AI in the food industry. As it’s first product, Chef makes AI-powered robots that help provide labor augmenting solutions to help food companies overcome their existential labor shortage. Our short term goal is to automate and help fill the 900,000 person labor gap in the US.
2) What are you excited about in 2023?
We’ve now deployed our set of deployment-ready AI-powered robots in the field. Now it’s around scale. We’re building out our first ops org and hope to scale around the country. I’m excited to see our robots deployed all over the country!
One of the things we’re finding as we scale is that over time, we go from a company providing robots for production to essentially becoming the OS for their plant. We help do production, we help schedule and plan their runs, and we also provide data and analytics in an industry. Over time, we hope that our set of products can help transform the food industry.
3) What have you enjoyed about working with Tau?
Sanjay and Amit have been some of our earliest supporters. They’ve been super helpful for us including doing introductions to prospective investors, helping close prospective investors, and helping to think strategy for the business as a whole. I highly recommend them.
